Take note – I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: ¹ 

Every one of you must give as you are able, ¹  according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.

All these blessings will come to you in abundance ¹  if you obey the Lord your God:

This is the blessing Moses the man of God pronounced upon the Israelites before his death.

Of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, overflowing with favor, and full of the Lord’s blessing, possess the west and south.

the blessing if you take to heart ¹  the commandments of the Lord your God that I am giving you today,

The Lord will decree blessing for you with respect to your barns and in everything you do – yes, he will bless you in the land he ¹  is giving you.

When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are to possess, you must pronounce the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal. ¹ 

On the other hand, you may slaughter and eat meat as you please when the Lord your God blesses you ¹  in all your villages. ²  Both the ritually pure and impure may eat it, whether it is a gazelle or an ibex.

But the Lord your God refused to listen to Balaam and changed ¹  the curse to a blessing, for the Lord your God loves ²  you.

“When you have experienced all these things, both the blessings and the curses ¹  I have set before you, you will reflect upon them ²  in all the nations where the Lord your God has banished you.

Today I invoke heaven and earth as a witness against you that I have set life and death, blessing and curse, before you. Therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live!
