<p class="poetry">Every valley must be elevated,p> <p class="poetry">and every mountain and hill leveled.p> <p class="poetry">The rough terrain will become a level plain,p> <p class="poetry">the rugged landscape a wide valley.p>

<p class="poetry">I will make the trees on the mountains and hills wither up;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I will dry up all their vegetation.p> <p class="poetry">I will turn streams into islands,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and dry up pools of water.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">In the future<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">the mountain of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple will endure<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">as the most important of mountains,p> <p class="poetry">and will be the most prominent of hills.<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">All the nations will stream to it,p>

<p class="poetry">On every high mountainp> <p class="poetry">and every high hillp> <p class="poetry">there will be streams flowing with water,p> <p class="poetry">at the time of<n id="1" /> great slaughter when the fortified towers collapse.p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Who has measured out the waters<n id="1" /> in the hollow of his hand,p> <p class="poetry">or carefully<n id="2" /> measured the sky,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">or carefully weighed<n id="4" /> the soil of the earth,p> <p class="poetry">or weighed the mountains in a balance,p> <p class="poetry">or the hills on scales?<n id="5" />p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;Look, I am making you like<n id="1" /> a sharp threshing sledge,p> <p class="poetry">new and double-edged.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">You will thresh the mountains and crush them;p> <p class="poetry">you will make the hills like straw.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Even if the mountains are removedp> <p class="poetry">and the hills displaced,p> <p class="poetry">my devotion will not be removed from you,p> <p class="poetry">nor will my covenant of friendship<n id="1" /> be displaced,&#8221;p> <p class="poetry">says the <sc>Lordsc>, the one who has compassion on you.p>

<p class="poetry">Indeed you will go out with joy;p> <p class="poetry">you will be led along in peace;p> <p class="poetry">the mountains and hills will give a joyful shout before you,p> <p class="poetry">and all the trees in the field will clap their hands.p>

<p class="poetry">One thousand will scurry at the battle cry of one enemy soldier;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">at the battle cry of five enemy soldiers you will all run away,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">until the remaining few are as isolated<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">as a flagpole on a mountaintopp> <p class="poetry">or a signal flag on a hill.&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">for your sins and your ancestors&#8217; sins,&#8221;<n id="1" /> says the <sc>Lordsc>.p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Because they burned incense on the mountainsp> <p class="poetry">and offended<n id="2" /> me on the hills,p> <p class="poetry">I will punish them in full measure.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>
