<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;On the fourteenth day of the first month is the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s Passover.

For their drink offerings, include<n id="1" /> half a hin of wine with each bull, one-third of a hin for the ram, and one-fourth of a hin for each lamb. This is the burnt offering for each month<n id="2" /> throughout the months of the year.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;On the first day of the seventh month, you are to hold a holy assembly. You must not do your ordinary work, for it is a day of blowing trumpets for you.

Counting every male from a month old and upward, there were 8,600. They were responsible for the care<n id="1" /> of the sanctuary.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Number all the firstborn males of the Israelites from a month old and upward, and take<n id="1" /> the number of their names.

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names from a month old and upward, totaled 22,273.p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out<n id="2" /> of the land of Egypt:p>

In the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight,<n id="1" /> you are to observe it at its appointed time; you must keep<n id="2" /> it in accordance with all its statutes and all its customs.&#8221;<n id="3" />

They may observe it on the fourteenth day of the second month<n id="1" /> at twilight; they are to eat it with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.

<p class="bodytext">Moses said, &#8220;The people around me<n id="1" /> are 600,000 on foot;<n id="2" /> but you say, &#8216;I will give them meat,<n id="3" /> that they may eat<n id="4" /> for a whole month.&#8217;

And those that must be redeemed you are to redeem when they are a month old, according to your estimation, for five shekels of silver according to the sanctuary shekel (which is twenty gerahs).

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Then the entire community of Israel<n id="2" /> entered the wilderness of Zin in the first month,<n id="3" /> and the people stayed in Kadesh.<n id="4" /> Miriam died and was buried there.<n id="5" />p>
