<p class="poetry">But<n id="1" /> all who destroyed you will be destroyed.p> <p class="poetry">All your enemies will go into exile.p> <p class="poetry">Those who plundered you will be plundered.p> <p class="poetry">I will cause those who pillaged you to be pillaged.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Everyone must be on his guard around his friends.p> <p class="poetry">He must not even trust any of his relatives.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">For every one of them will find some way to cheat him.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">And all of his friends will tell lies about him.p>

I will purify them from all the sin that they committed against me. I will forgive all their sins which they committed in rebelling against me.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">Then Jeremiah spoke to all the people, particularly to all the women.<n id="1" /> &#8220;Listen to what the <sc>Lordsc> has to say all you people of Judah who are in Egypt.

<p class="poetry">For all of them will shave their heads in mourning.p> <p class="poetry">They will all cut off their beards to show their sorrow.p> <p class="poetry">They will all make gashes in their hands.p> <p class="poetry">They will all put on sackcloth.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">After I vent my wrath on it Babylon will be uninhabited.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">It will be totally desolate.p> <p class="poetry">All who pass by will be filled with horror and will hiss out their scornp> <p class="poetry">because of all the disasters that have happened to it.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">I reported,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;All of them are the most stubborn of rebels!<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">They are as hard as bronze or iron.p> <p class="poetry">They go about telling lies.p> <p class="poetry">They all deal corruptly.p>

<p class="poetry">I will give away your wealth and your treasures as plunder.p> <p class="poetry">I will give it away free of charge for the sins you have committed throughout your land.p>

<p class="poetry">and on the mountains and in the fields.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I will give your wealth and all your treasures away as plunder.p> <p class="poetry">I will give it away as the price<n id="2" /> for the sins you have committed throughout your land.p>

<t /><p class="poetry"><sc>Lordsc>, you coerced me into being a prophet,p> <p class="poetry">and I allowed you to do it.p> <p class="poetry">You overcame my resistance and prevailed over me.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Now I have become a constant laughingstock.p> <p class="poetry">Everyone ridicules me.p>

all the kings of Arabia who<n id="1" /> live in the desert;

&#8220;I am the <sc>Lordsc>, the God of all humankind. There is, indeed, nothing too difficult for me.<n id="1" />

I will take delight in doing good to them. I will faithfully and wholeheartedly plant them<n id="1" /> firmly in the land.&#8217;p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;Edom will become an object of horror.p> <p class="poetry">All who pass by it will be filled with horror;p> <p class="poetry">they will hiss out their scornp> <p class="poetry">because of all the disasters that have happened to it.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">All of its soldiers are strong and mighty.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Their arrows will send you to your grave.<n id="2" />p>

I will hand over all the wealth of this city to their enemies. I will hand over to them all the fruits of the labor of the people of this city and all their prized possessions, as well as all the treasures of the kings of Judah. Their enemies will seize it all as plunder<n id="1" /> and carry it off to Babylon.

All the nations will hear about all the good things which I will do to them. This city will bring me fame, honor, and praise before them for the joy that I bring it. The nations will tremble in awe at all the peace and prosperity that I will provide for it.&#8217;<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> spoke to Jeremiah while King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was attacking Jerusalem<n id="1" /> and the towns around it with a large army. This army consisted of troops from his own army and from the kingdoms and peoples of the lands under his dominion.<n id="2" />

The <sc>Lordsc> said to me, &#8220;Do not say, &#8216;I am too young.&#8217; But go<n id="1" /> to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.
