They charged<n id="1" /> two-thirds of a shekel<n id="2" /> to sharpen plowshares and cutting instruments, and a third of a shekel<n id="3" /> to sharpen picks and axes, and to set ox goads.

She said, &#8220;Just as surely as you are alive, my lord, I am the woman who previously stood here with you in order to pray to the <sc>Lordsc>.

As she was dying, the women who were there with her said, &#8220;Don&#8217;t be afraid! You have given birth to a son!&#8221; But she did not reply or pay any attention.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Samuel got up early to meet Saul the next morning. But Samuel was informed, &#8220;Saul has gone to Carmel where<n id="1" /> he is setting up a monument for himself. Then Samuel left<n id="2" /> and went down to Gilgal.&#8221;<n id="3" />

So Saul sent messengers to capture David. When they saw a company of prophets prophesying with Samuel standing there as their leader, the spirit of God came upon Saul&#8217;s messengers, and they also prophesied.

<t /><p class="bodytext">But Saul found out the whereabouts of David and the men who were with him.<n id="1" /> Now Saul was sitting at Gibeah under the tamarisk tree at an elevated location with his spear in hand and all his servants stationed around him.

Saul said to his servants who were stationed around him, &#8220;Listen up, you Benjaminites! Is Jesse&#8217;s son giving fields and vineyards to all of you? Or is he making all of you<n id="1" /> commanders and officers?<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">But Doeg the Edomite, who had stationed himself with the servants of Saul, replied, &#8220;I saw this son of Jesse come to Ahimelech son of Ahitub at Nob.

Then the king said to the messengers<n id="1" /> who were stationed beside him, &#8220;Turn and kill the priests of the <sc>Lordsc>, for they too have sided<n id="2" /> with David! They knew he was fleeing, but they did not inform me.&#8221; But the king&#8217;s servants refused to harm<n id="3" /> the priests of the <sc>Lordsc>.p>
