<p class="bodytext">So they went up to the town. As they were heading for the middle of the town, Samuel was coming in their direction<n id="1" /> to go up to the high place.

The woman replied, &#8220;Who is it that I should bring up for you?&#8221; He said, &#8220;Bring up for me Samuel.&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> both kills and gives life;p> <p class="poetry">he brings down to the grave<n id="1" /> and raises up.p>

His mother used to make him a small robe and bring it up to him at regular intervals when she would go up with her husband to make the annual sacrifice.

Just when he had finished offering the burnt offering, Samuel appeared on the scene. Saul went out to meet him and to greet him.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Samuel went to Ramah, while Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul.

When you enter the town, you can find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people won&#8217;t eat until he arrives, for he must bless the sacrifice. Once that happens, those who have been invited will eat. Now go on up, for<n id="1" /> this is the time when you can find him!&#8221;p>

Then the men of the garrison said to Jonathan and his armor bearer, &#8220;Come on up to us so we can teach you a thing or two!&#8221;<n id="1" /> Then Jonathan said to his armor bearer, &#8220;Come up behind me, for the <sc>Lordsc> has given<n id="2" /> them into the hand of Israel!&#8221;p>

The residents of Beth Shemesh asked, &#8220;Who is able to stand before the <sc>Lord,sc> this holy God? To whom will the ark<n id="1" /> go up from here?&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So they sent messengers to the residents of Kiriath Jearim, saying, &#8220;The Philistines have returned the ark of the <sc>Lordsc>. Come down here and take it back home with you.&#8221;p>
