So fire went out from the presence of the Lord ¹  and consumed them so that they died before the Lord.

You must stand up in the presence of the aged, honor the presence of an elder, and fear your God. I am the Lord.

“‘If his offering is a goat he must present it before the Lord,

You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword. ¹ 

The priest must dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle ¹  some of it ²  seven times before the Lord toward ³  the front of the veil-canopy ⁴  of the sanctuary.

the elders of the congregation must lay their hands on the head of the bull before the Lord, and someone must slaughter ¹  the bull before the Lord.

and that priest must dip his finger in the blood ¹  and sprinkle ²  some of the blood seven times ³  before the Lord toward ⁴  the front of the veil-canopy. ⁵ 

“‘This is the law of the grain offering. The sons of Aaron are to present it ¹  before the Lord in front of the altar,

So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of ¹  the Meeting Tent and the whole congregation presented them and stood before the Lord.

Then fire went out from the presence of the Lord ¹  and consumed the burnt offering and the fat parts on the altar, and all the people saw it, so they shouted loudly and fell down with their faces to the ground. ² 

Then he is to take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the eastern face of the atonement plate, ¹  and in front of the atonement plate he is to sprinkle some of the blood seven times with his finger. ² 

“‘You ¹  must not deal unjustly in judgment: ²  you must neither show partiality to the poor nor honor the rich. ³  You must judge your fellow citizen fairly. ⁴ 

I will set my face against you. You will be struck down before your enemies, those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when there is no one pursuing you.

They will stumble over each other as those who flee before a sword, though ¹  there is no pursuer, and there will be no one to take a stand ²  for you before your enemies.

You will still be eating stored produce from the previous year ¹  and will have to clean out what is stored from the previous year to make room for new. ² 

If he presents a sheep as his offering, he must present it before the Lord.

If his head is bare on the forehead ¹  so that he is balding in front, ²  he is clean.

and the priest who pronounces him clean will have the man who is being cleansed stand along with these offerings ¹  before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent.

He must then take the two goats ¹  and stand them before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent,

for on this day atonement is to be made for you to cleanse you from all your sins; you must be clean before the Lord. ¹
