Isaiah<n id="1" /> asked, &#8220;What have they seen in your palace?&#8221; Hezekiah replied, &#8220;They have seen everything in my palace. I showed them everything<n id="2" /> in my treasuries.&#8221;

While Elisha was watching, he was crying out, &#8220;My father, my father! The chariot and horsemen of Israel!&#8221;<n id="1" /> Then he could no longer see him. He grabbed his clothes and tore them in two.

for this is what the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;You will not feel<n id="1" /> any wind or see any rain, but this valley will be full of water and you and your cattle and animals will drink.&#8217;

The king<n id="1" /> ordered, &#8220;Go, find out where he is, so I can send some men to capture him.&#8221;<n id="2" /> The king was told, &#8220;He is in Dothan.&#8221;

When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, &#8220;Should I strike them down,<n id="1" /> my master?&#8221;<n id="2" />

So they picked two horsemen and the king sent them out to track the Syrian army.<n id="1" /> He ordered them, &#8220;Go and find out what&#8217;s going on.&#8221;<n id="2" />

Jehu<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;Come with me and see how zealous I am for the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s cause.&#8221;<n id="2" /> So he<n id="3" /> took him along in his chariot.

Then Elisha prayed, &#8220;O <sc>Lordsc>, open his eyes so he can see.&#8221; The <sc>Lordsc> opened the servant&#8217;s eyes and he saw that<n id="1" /> the hill was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

<p class="bodytext">When they had entered Samaria, Elisha said, &#8220;O <sc>Lordsc>, open their eyes, so they can see.&#8221; The <sc>Lordsc> opened their eyes and they saw that they were in the middle of Samaria.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and saw Jehu&#8217;s troops approaching.<n id="1" /> He said, &#8220;I see troops!&#8221;<n id="2" /> Jehoram ordered,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Send a rider out to meet them and have him ask, &#8216;Is everything all right?&#8217;&#8221;<n id="4" />

Elijah<n id="1" /> replied, &#8220;That&#8217;s a difficult request!<n id="2" /> If you see me taken from you, may it be so, but if you don&#8217;t, it will not happen.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">When the members of the prophetic guild in Jericho,<n id="1" /> who were standing at a distance,<n id="2" /> saw him do this, they said, &#8220;The spirit that energized Elijah<n id="3" /> rests upon Elisha.&#8221; They went to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

<t /><p class="bodytext">The men of the city said to Elisha, &#8220;Look, the city has a good location, as our<n id="1" /> master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn&#8217;t produce crops.&#8221;<n id="2" />

When he turned around and saw them, he called God&#8217;s judgment down on them.<n id="1" /> Two female bears came out of the woods and ripped forty-two of the boys to pieces.

When they got up early the next morning, the sun was shining on the water. To the Moabites, who were some distance away, the water looked red like blood.

So Gehazi ran after Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from his chariot to meet him and asked, &#8220;Is everything all right?&#8221;<n id="1" />

The prophet<n id="1" /> asked, &#8220;Where did it drop in?&#8221; When he showed him the spot, Elisha<n id="2" /> cut off a branch, threw it in at that spot, and made the ax head float.

Elisha said to him, &#8220;Go and tell him, &#8216;You will surely recover,&#8217;<n id="1" /> but the <sc>Lordsc> has revealed to me that he will surely die.&#8221;

When you arrive there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi and take him aside into an inner room.<n id="1" />

Jehu drove his chariot<n id="1" /> to Jezreel, for Joram was recuperating<n id="2" /> there. (Now King Ahaziah of Judah had come down to visit<n id="3" /> Joram.)p>
