Even if your exiles are in the most distant land, ¹  from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.

“During those days the Israelites traveled from Beeroth Bene-Yaaqan ¹  to Moserah. ²  There Aaron died and was buried, and his son Eleazar became priest in his place.

But you must seek only the place he ¹  chooses from all your tribes to establish his name as his place of residence, ²  and you must go there.

for you may do so ¹  only in the place the Lord chooses in one of your tribal areas – there you may do everything I am commanding you. ² 

You are to have a place outside the camp to serve as a latrine. ¹ 

Also you must offer fellowship offerings and eat them there, rejoicing before the Lord your God.

As for me, the Lord was also angry with me on your account. He said, “You also will not be able to go there.

But if you seek the Lord your God from there, you will find him, if, indeed, you seek him with all your heart and soul. ¹ 

From there they traveled to Gudgodah, ¹  and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, ²  a place of flowing streams.

and serves in the name of the Lord his God like his fellow Levites who stand there before the Lord.

The elders of his own city must send for him and remove him from there to deliver him over to the blood avenger ¹  to die.

Then you must build an altar there to the Lord your God, an altar of stones – do not use an iron tool on them.

You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.

So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab as the Lord had said.

For the land where you are headed ¹  is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, a land where you planted seed and which you irrigated by hand ²  like a vegetable garden.

Then you must come to the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to reside, bringing ¹  everything I am commanding you – your burnt offerings, sacrifices, tithes, the personal offerings you have prepared, ²  and all your choice votive offerings which you devote to him. ³ 

Then you must affirm before the Lord your God, “A wandering ¹  Aramean ²  was my ancestor, ³  and he went down to Egypt and lived there as a foreigner with a household few in number, ⁴  but there he became a great, powerful, and numerous people.

However, Joshua son of Nun, your assistant, ¹  will go. Encourage him, because he will enable Israel to inherit the land. ² 

Look! I have taught you statutes and ordinances just as the Lord my God told me to do, so that you might carry them out in ¹  the land you are about to enter and possess.

Moreover, at that same time the Lord commanded me to teach you statutes and ordinances for you to keep in the land which you are about to enter and possess. ¹
