You prove to be loyal ¹  to one who is faithful; ²  you prove to be trustworthy ³  to one who is innocent. ⁴ 

You prove to be reliable ¹  to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive ²  to one who is perverse. ³

Now David ¹  had been told, “Ahithophel has sided with the conspirators who are with Absalom. So David prayed, ²  “Make the advice of Ahithophel foolish, O Lord!”

The army of Israel was defeated there by David’s men. ¹  The slaughter there was great that day – 20,000 soldiers were killed.

Shimei son of Gera the Benjaminite from Bahurim came down quickly with the men of Judah to meet King David.
