So the name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, ¹  because there they buried the people that craved different food. ² 

¹ Then the entire community of Israel ²  entered the wilderness of Zin in the first month, ³  and the people stayed in Kadesh. ⁴  Miriam died and was buried there. ⁵ 

So he called the name of that place Taberah ¹  because there the fire of the Lord burned among them.

Why ¹  have you brought up the Lord’s community into this wilderness? So that ²  we and our cattle should die here?

Moses sent spies to reconnoiter ¹  Jaazer, and they captured its villages ²  and dispossessed the Amorites who were there.

Our children, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead,

The Lord listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, ¹  and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. So the name of the place was called ²  Hormah.

But two men remained in the camp; one’s name was Eldad, and the other’s name was Medad. And the spirit rested on them. (Now they were among those in the registration, ¹  but had not gone to the tabernacle.) So they prophesied in the camp.
