The <sc>Lordsc> was so furious with Uzzah,<n id="1" /> he<n id="2" /> killed him on the spot<n id="3" /> for his negligence.<n id="4" /> He died right there beside the ark of God.p>

They brought<n id="1" /> it with the ark of God up from the house of Abinadab on the hill. Ahio was walking in front of the ark,

So Zadok and Abiathar took the ark of God back to Jerusalem and remained there.p>

David was told,<n id="1" /> &#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> has blessed the family of Obed-Edom and everything he owns because of the ark of God.&#8221; So David went and joyfully brought the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David.

Zadok and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. When they positioned the ark of God, Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving<n id="1" /> the city.p>

Joab replied, &#8220;As surely as God lives, if you had not said this, it would have been morning before the people would have abandoned pursuit<n id="1" /> of their brothers!&#8221;

Then David prayed to<n id="1" /> God for the child and fasted.<n id="2" /> He would even<n id="3" /> go and spend the night lying on the ground.

<p class="bodytext">Then the king said to Zadok, &#8220;Take the ark of God back to the city. If I find favor in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s sight he will bring me back and enable me to see both it and his dwelling place again.

But my servant<n id="1" /> has slandered me<n id="2" /> to my lord the king. But my lord the king is like an angel of God. Do whatever seems appropriate to you.

David and all the men who were with him traveled<n id="1" /> to<n id="2" /> Baalah<n id="3" /> in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the name<n id="4" /> of the <sc>Lordsc> of hosts, who sits enthroned between the cherubim that are on it.

They loaded the ark of God on a new cart and carried it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart.

So your servant said, &#8216;May the word of my lord the king be my security, for my lord the king is like the angel of God when it comes to deciding between right and wrong! May the <sc>Lordsc> your God be with you!&#8217;&#8221;p>

Your servant Joab did this so as to change this situation. But my lord has wisdom like that of the angel of God, and knows everything that is happening in the land.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">In those days Ahithophel&#8217;s advice was considered as valuable as a prophetic revelation.<n id="1" /> Both David and Absalom highly regarded the advice of Ahithophel.<n id="2" />p>
