When he made ¹  the force of the wind and measured ²  the waters with a gauge.

Who comprehends ¹  the mind ²  of the Lord, or gives him instruction as his counselor? ³ 

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

If you say, “But we did not know about this,” does not the one who evaluates ¹  hearts consider? Does not the one who guards your life know? Will he not repay each person according to his deeds? ² 

Who has measured out the waters ¹  in the hollow of his hand, or carefully ²  measured the sky, ³  or carefully weighed ⁴  the soil of the earth, or weighed the mountains in a balance, or the hills on scales? ⁵ 

The dry and liquid measures will be the same, the bath will contain a tenth of a homer, ¹  and the ephah a tenth of a homer; the homer will be the standard measure.
