Moab&#8217;s might will be crushed. Its power will be broken.<n id="1" /> I, the <sc>Lordsc>, affirm it!<n id="2" />p>

The first daughter he named Jemimah,<n id="1" /> the second Keziah,<n id="2" /> and the third Keren-Happuch.<n id="3" />

When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face shone;<n id="1" /> and they were afraid to approach him.

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> shatters<n id="1" /> his adversaries;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">he thunders against them from<n id="3" /> the heavens.p> <p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> executes judgment to the ends of the earth.p> <p class="poetry">He will strengthen<n id="4" /> his kingp> <p class="poetry">and exalt the power<n id="5" /> of his anointed one.&#8221;<n id="6" />p>

All these were the sons of Heman, the king&#8217;s prophet. God had promised him these sons in order to make him prestigious.<n id="1" /> God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.p>

<p class="lamhebrew">&#1490; (<i>Gimeli>)p> <p class="poetry">In fierce anger<n id="1" /> he destroyed<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">the whole army<n id="3" /> of Israel.p> <p class="poetry">He withdrew his right hand<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">as the enemy attacked.<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">He was like a raging fire in the land of Jacob;<n id="6" />p> <p class="poetry">it consumed everything around it.<n id="7" />p>

On that day I will make Israel powerful,<n id="1" /> and I will give you the right to be heard<n id="2" /> among them. Then they will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">From one of them came a small horn.<n id="1" /> But it grew to be very big, toward the south and the east and toward the beautiful land.<n id="2" />

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Now when Moses came down<n id="2" /> from Mount Sinai with<n id="3" /> the two tablets of the testimony in his hand<n id="4" /> &#8211; when he came down<n id="5" /> from the mountain, Moses<n id="6" /> did not know that the skin of his face shone<n id="7" /> while he talked with him.

When the Israelites would see<n id="1" /> the face of Moses, that<n id="2" /> the skin of Moses&#8217; face shone, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="3" />p>

So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the <sc>Lordsc> rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.p>

Zadok the priest took a horn filled with olive oil<n id="1" /> from the tent and poured it on<n id="2" /> Solomon; the trumpet was blown and all the people declared, &#8220;Long live King Solomon!&#8221;

<p class="lamhebrew">&#1506; (<i>Ayini>)p> <p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> has done what he planned;p> <p class="poetry">he has fulfilled<n id="1" /> his promise<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">that he threatened<n id="3" /> long ago:<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">He has overthrown you without mercy<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">and has enabled the enemy to gloat over you;p> <p class="poetry">he has exalted your adversaries&#8217; power.<n id="6" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;As I was contemplating the horns, another horn &#8211; a small one &#8211; came up between them, and three of the former horns were torn out by the roots to make room for it.<n id="1" /> This horn had eyes resembling human eyes and a mouth speaking arrogant<n id="2" /> things.p>

<p class="bodytext">While I was contemplating all this,<n id="1" /> a male goat<n id="2" /> was coming from the west over the surface of all the land<n id="3" /> without touching the ground. This goat had a conspicuous horn<n id="4" /> between its eyes.

I asked, &#8220;What are these going to do?&#8221; He answered, &#8220;These horns are the ones that have scattered Judah so that there is no one to be seen.<n id="1" /> But the blacksmiths have come to terrify Judah&#8217;s enemies<n id="2" /> and cut off the horns of the nations that have thrust themselves against the land of Judah in order to scatter its people.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>
