<p class="bodytext">The servant in charge<n id="1" /> brought the men into Joseph&#8217;s house. He gave them water, and they washed their feet. Then he gave food to their donkeys.

<p class="bodytext">So the sons of Israel did as he said.<n id="1" /> Joseph gave them wagons as Pharaoh had instructed,<n id="2" /> and he gave them provisions for the journey.

God placed the lights<n id="1" /> in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,

<p class="bodytext">Everything he owned Abraham left to his son Isaac.

In this way God has snatched away your father&#8217;s livestock and given them to me.p>

<p class="bodytext">Abraham took some sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech. The two of them made a treaty.<n id="1" />

He restored the chief cupbearer to his former position<n id="1" /> so that he placed the cup in Pharaoh&#8217;s hand,

&#8220;The man, the lord of the land, spoke harshly to us and treated us<n id="1" /> as if we were<n id="2" /> spying on the land.

He wept loudly;<n id="1" /> the Egyptians heard it and Pharaoh&#8217;s household heard about it.<n id="2" />p>

So Abram<n id="1" /> took all these for him and then cut them in two<n id="2" /> and placed each half opposite the other,<n id="3" /> but he did not cut the birds in half.

Then Abraham ran to the herd and chose a fine, tender calf, and gave it to a servant,<n id="1" /> who quickly prepared it.<n id="2" />

Abraham<n id="1" /> then took some curds and milk, along with the calf that had been prepared, and placed the food<n id="2" /> before them. They ate while<n id="3" /> he was standing near them under a tree.p>

<p class="bodytext">So Abimelech gave<n id="1" /> sheep, cattle, and male and female servants to Abraham. He also gave his wife Sarah back to him.

if he will sell<n id="1" /> me the cave of Machpelah that belongs to him; it is at the end of his field. Let him sell it to me publicly<n id="2" /> for the full price,<n id="3" /> so that I may own it as a burial site.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So Abraham&#8217;s servant<n id="1" /> went to the house and unloaded<n id="2" /> the camels. Straw and feed were given<n id="3" /> to the camels, and water was provided so that he and the men who were with him could wash their feet.<n id="4" />

&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> has richly blessed my master and he has become very wealthy.<n id="1" /> The Lord<n id="2" /> has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.
