When the men of Judah<n id="1" /> arrived at the observation post overlooking the desert and looked at<n id="2" /> the huge army, they saw dead bodies on the ground; there were no survivors!

&#8220;Be strong and brave! Don&#8217;t be afraid and don&#8217;t panic<n id="1" /> because of the king of Assyria and this huge army that is with him! We have with us one who is stronger than those who are with him.<n id="2" />

Our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this huge army that attacks us! We don&#8217;t know what we should do; we look to you for help.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

He said: &#8220;Pay attention, all you people of Judah,<n id="1" /> residents of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says to you: &#8216;Don&#8217;t be afraid and don&#8217;t panic<n id="2" /> because of this huge army! For the battle is not yours, but God&#8217;s.

Azariah, the head priest from the family of Zadok, said to him, &#8220;Since the contributions began arriving in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple, we have had plenty to eat and have a large quantity left over. For the <sc>Lordsc> has blessed his people, and this large amount remains.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Asa prayed<n id="1" /> to the <sc>Lordsc> his God: &#8220;O <sc>Lordsc>, there is no one but you who can help the weak when they are vastly outnumbered.<n id="2" /> Help us, O <sc>Lordsc> our God, for we rely on you and have marched on your behalf against this huge army.<n id="3" /> O <sc>Lordsc> our God, don&#8217;t let men prevail against you!&#8221;<n id="4" />
