Therefore ¹  the land has become unclean and I have brought the punishment for its iniquity upon it, ²  so that the land has vomited out its inhabitants.

for the people who were in the land before you have done all these abominations, ¹  and the land has become unclean.

Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, ¹  so that the land does not practice prostitution and become full of lewdness. ² 

“‘Any tithe ¹  of the land, from the grain of the land or from the fruit of the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you enter the land that I am giving you, the land must observe a Sabbath ¹  to the Lord.

“‘Then the land will make up for ¹  its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up its Sabbaths.

“‘The land will give its fruit and you may eat until you are satisfied, ¹  and you may live securely in the land.

“‘Now this is what is unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the land: ¹  the rat, the mouse, the large lizard of any kind,

Every swarming thing that swarms on the land is detestable; it must not be eaten.

So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it ¹  just as it has vomited out the nations ²  that were before you.

You may have the Sabbath produce ¹  of the land to eat – you, your male servant, your female servant, your hired worker, the resident foreigner who stays with you, ² 

You must obey my statutes and my regulations; you must be sure to keep them ¹  so that you may live securely in the land. ² 

The land must not be sold without reclaim ¹  because the land belongs to me, for you are foreigners and residents with me. ² 

I will give you your rains in their time so that ¹  the land will give its yield and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. ² 

I myself will make the land desolate and your enemies who live in it will be appalled.

In the jubilee year the field will return to the one from whom he bought it, the one to whom it belongs as landed property.

“‘If an ordinary individual ¹  sins by straying unintentionally ²  when he violates one of the Lord’s commandments which must not be violated, ³  and he pleads guilty

“Tell the Israelites: ‘This is the kind of creature you may eat from among all the animals ¹  that are on the land.

This is the law ¹  of the land animals, the birds, all the living creatures that move in the water, and all the creatures ²  that swarm on the land,

If, however, the people of the land shut their eyes ¹  to that man ²  when he gives some of his children to Molech so that they do not put him to death,
