When you go out to do battle with your enemies and the Lord your God allows you to prevail ¹  and you take prisoners,

When you go out as an army against your enemies, guard yourselves against anything impure. ¹ 

“The Lord will allow you to be struck down before your enemies; you will attack them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions and will become an object of terror ¹  to all the kingdoms of the earth.

When you go to war against your enemies and see chariotry ¹  and troops ²  who outnumber you, do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.
