He spoke with me, instructing me as follows: ¹  “Daniel, I have now come to impart understanding to you.

In every matter of wisdom and ¹  insight the king asked them about, he found them to be ten times ²  better than any of the magicians and astrologers that were in his entire empire.

He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. ¹  He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding; ² 

While I, Daniel, was watching the vision, I sought to understand it. Now one who appeared to be a man was standing before me.
