<p class="poetry">I walk in the path of righteousness,p> <p class="poetry">in the pathway of justice,p>

<p class="poetry">True<n id="1" /> righteousness leads to<n id="2" /> life,p> <p class="poetry">but the one who pursues evil pursues it<n id="3" /> to his own death.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">Righteousness exalts<n id="1" /> a nation,p> <p class="poetry">but sin is a disgrace<n id="2" /> to any people.p>

<p class="poetry">Gray hair is like<n id="1" /> a crown of glory;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">it is attained<n id="3" /> in the path of righteousness.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">To do righteousness and justicep> <p class="poetry">is more acceptable<n id="1" /> to the <sc>Lordsc> than sacrifice.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> promotes<n id="1" /> equity and justice;p> <p class="poetry">the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s faithfulness extends throughout the earth.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">How blessed are those who promote justice,p> <p class="poetry">and do what is right all the time!p>

<p class="poetry">The wicked person<n id="1" /> earns<n id="2" /> deceitful wages,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">but the one who sows<n id="4" /> righteousness reaps<n id="5" /> a genuine<n id="6" /> reward.<n id="7" />p>

<p class="poetry">In the path of righteousness there is life,p> <p class="poetry">but another path leads to death.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">Righteousness<n id="1" /> guards the one who lives with integrity,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">but wickedness<n id="3" /> overthrows the sinner.p>

<p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> abhors<n id="1" /> the way of the wicked,p> <p class="poetry">but he loves those<n id="2" /> who pursue<n id="3" /> righteousness.p>

<p class="poetry">As for the Almighty,<n id="1" /> we cannot attain to him!p> <p class="poetry">He is great in power,p> <p class="poetry">but justice<n id="2" /> and abundant righteousness he does not oppress.p>

Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to me, &#8220;Under the circumstances, wayward Israel could even be considered less guilty than unfaithful Judah.<n id="1" />p>

In those days and at that time I will raise up for them a righteous descendant<n id="1" /> of David.p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;He will do what is just and right in the land.

Judah recognized them and said, &#8220;She is more upright<n id="1" /> than I am, because I wouldn&#8217;t give her to Shelah my son.&#8221; He did not have sexual relations with her<n id="2" /> again.p>

You must by all means<n id="1" /> return to him at sunset the item he gave you as security so that he may sleep in his outer garment and bless you for it; it will be considered a just<n id="2" /> deed by the <sc>Lordsc> your God.p>

For though your people, Israel, are as numerous as<n id="1" /> the sand on the seashore, only a remnant will come back.<n id="2" /> Destruction has been decreed;<n id="3" /> just punishment<n id="4" /> is about to engulf you.<n id="5" />
