<t /><p class="bodytext">So Jacob moved on<n id="1" /> and came to the land of the eastern people.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">So Joseph moved them from Israel&#8217;s knees<n id="1" /> and bowed down with his face to the ground.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Abraham journeyed from there to the Negev<n id="1" /> region and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While he lived as a temporary resident<n id="2" /> in Gerar,

<p class="bodytext">When Abraham&#8217;s servant heard their words, he bowed down to the ground before the <sc>Lordsc>.

<p class="bodytext">Jacob sent messengers on ahead<n id="1" /> to his brother Esau in the land of Seir, the region<n id="2" /> of Edom.

So each man quickly lowered<n id="1" /> his sack to the ground and opened it.

<p class="bodytext">So Judah and his brothers<n id="1" /> came back to Joseph&#8217;s house. He was still there,<n id="2" /> and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

<p class="bodytext">Jacob<n id="1" /> sent Judah before him to Joseph to accompany him to Goshen.<n id="2" /> So they came to the land of Goshen.

And Abram took his wife Sarai, his nephew<n id="1" /> Lot, and all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired<n id="2" /> in Haran, and they left for<n id="3" /> the land of Canaan. They entered the land of Canaan.p>

Abraham<n id="1" /> looked up<n id="2" /> and saw<n id="3" /> three men standing across<n id="4" /> from him. When he saw them<n id="5" /> he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed low<n id="6" /> to the ground.<n id="7" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The two angels came to Sodom in the evening while<n id="1" /> Lot was sitting in the city&#8217;s gateway.<n id="2" /> When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face toward the ground.p>

and had a dream.<n id="1" /> He saw<n id="2" /> a stairway<n id="3" /> erected on the earth with its top reaching to the heavens. The angels of God were going up and coming down it

<p class="bodytext">Now Joseph was the ruler of the country, the one who sold grain to all the people of the country.<n id="1" /> Joseph&#8217;s brothers came and bowed down<n id="2" /> before him with<n id="3" /> their faces to the ground.

<p class="bodytext">They returned to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan and told him all the things that had happened to them, saying,

<p class="bodytext">When Joseph came home, they presented him with the gifts they had brought inside,<n id="1" /> and they bowed down to the ground before him.

Pharaoh said to Joseph, &#8220;Say to your brothers, &#8216;Do this: Load your animals and go<n id="1" /> to the land of Canaan!

<p class="bodytext">Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot (the son of Haran), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram&#8217;s wife, and with them he set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. When they came to Haran, they settled there.

He took<n id="1" /> away all the livestock he had acquired in Paddan Aram and all his moveable property that he had accumulated. Then he set out toward the land of Canaan to return to his father Isaac.<n id="2" />p>

When he told his father and his brothers, his father rebuked him, saying, &#8220;What is this dream that you had?<n id="1" /> Will I, your mother, and your brothers really come and bow down to you?&#8221;<n id="2" />
