Look away from him and let him desist, ¹  until he fulfills ²  his time like a hired man.

He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior’s strong legs. ¹ 

If, however, it is eaten ¹  on the third day, it is spoiled, ²  it will not be accepted,

As for an ox ¹  or a sheep with a limb too long or stunted, ²  you may present it as a freewill offering, but it will not be acceptable for a votive offering. ³ 

For the Lord disciplines ¹  those he loves, just as a father ²  disciplines ³  the son in whom he delights.

If some of the meat of his peace offering sacrifice is ever eaten on the third day it will not be accepted; it will not be accounted to the one who presented it, since it is spoiled, ¹  and the person who eats from it will bear his punishment for iniquity. ² 

“When an ox, lamb, or goat is born, it must be under the care of ¹  its mother seven days, but from the eighth day onward it will be acceptable as an offering gift ²  to the Lord.
