Do not say, ¹  “I will pay back ²  evil!” Wait ³  for the Lord, so that he may vindicate you. ⁴ 

We hoped for good fortune, but nothing good has come of it. We hoped for a time of relief, but instead we experience terror. ¹ 

Rely ¹  on the Lord! Be strong and confident! ²  Rely on the Lord!

Rely ¹  on the Lord! Obey his commands! ²  Then he will permit you ³  to possess the land; you will see the demise of evil men. ⁴
