May you demonstrate wholehearted devotion to the <sc>Lordsc> our God<n id="1" /> by following<n id="2" /> his rules and obeying<n id="3" /> his commandments, as you are presently doing.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

Today you have declared the <sc>Lordsc> to be your God, and that you will walk in his ways, keep his statutes, commandments, and ordinances, and obey him.

And today the <sc>Lordsc> has declared you to be his special people (as he already promised you) so you may keep all his commandments.

May he make us submissive,<n id="1" /> so we can follow all his instructions<n id="2" /> and obey<n id="3" /> the commandments, rules, and regulations he commanded our ancestors.

If only it would really be their desire to fear me and obey<n id="1" /> all my commandments in the future, so that it may go well with them and their descendants forever.

What<n id="1" /> I am commanding you today is to love the <sc>Lordsc> your God, to walk in his ways, and to obey his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances. Then you will live and become numerous and the <sc>Lordsc> your God will bless you in the land which you are about to possess.<n id="2" />

But carefully obey the commands and instructions Moses the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s servant gave you. Love<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> your God, follow all his instructions,<n id="2" /> obey<n id="3" /> his commands, be loyal to him,<n id="4" /> and serve him with all your heart and being!&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

The king stood by the pillar and renewed<n id="1" /> the covenant before the <sc>Lordsc>, agreeing to follow<n id="2" /> the <sc>Lordsc> and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being,<n id="3" /> by carrying out the terms<n id="4" /> of this covenant recorded on this scroll. All the people agreed to keep the covenant.<n id="5" />p>
