O Lord, the God who avenges! O God who avenges, reveal your splendor! ² 

The one true God ¹  completely vindicates me; ²  he makes nations submit to me. ³ 

I will exact great vengeance upon them with angry rebukes. ¹  Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I exact my vengeance upon them.’”

She said to him, “My father, since ¹  you made an oath to the Lord, do to me as you promised. ²  After all, the Lord vindicated you before ³  your enemies, the Ammonites.”

They brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David in Hebron, saying to the king, “Look! The head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who sought your life! The Lord has granted vengeance to my lord the king this day against ¹  Saul and his descendants!”
