Now ¹  a river flows ²  from Eden ³  to water the orchard, and from there it divides ⁴  into four headstreams. ⁵

I constructed pools of water for myself, to irrigate my grove ¹  of flourishing trees.

The wild animals of the desert honor me, the jackals and ostriches, because I put water in the desert and streams in the wilderness, to quench the thirst of my chosen people,
