You will go insane from seeing all this.

“As for me, ¹  this ²  is my covenant with you: You will be the father of a multitude of nations.

“I am about to die. ¹  Be strong and become a man!

And you will be like one who lies down in the midst ¹  of the sea, and like one who lies down on the top of the rigging. ² 

May the sovereign God ¹  bless you! May he make you fruitful and give you a multitude of descendants! ²  Then you will become ³  a large nation. ⁴ 

You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.

I will select ¹  you; you will rule over all you desire to have and you will be king over Israel.

For ¹  then you will lift up your face without ²  blemish; ³  you will be securely established ⁴  and will not fear.

You will be a majestic crown in the hand of the Lord, a royal turban in the hand of your God.

“‘Be ready and stay ready, you and all your companies assembled around you, and be a guard for them. ¹ 

Your creditors will suddenly attack; ¹  those who terrify you will spring into action, ²  and they will rob you. ³ 

You will feel your way along at noon like the blind person does in darkness and you will not succeed in anything you do; ¹  you will be constantly oppressed and continually robbed, with no one to save you.

You will be free from your oath ¹  if you go to my relatives and they will not give her to you. Then you will be free from your oath.’

You will live ¹  in the land of Goshen, and you will be near me – you, your children, your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and everything you have.

Moses ¹  said, “Do not leave us, ²  because you know places for us to camp in the wilderness, and you could be our guide. ³ 

You must not bring any abhorrent thing into your house and thereby become an object of divine wrath ¹  along with it. ²  You must absolutely detest ³  and abhor it, ⁴  for it is an object of divine wrath.

“The Lord will allow you to be struck down before your enemies; you will attack them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions and will become an object of terror ¹  to all the kingdoms of the earth.

As for the produce of your land and all your labor, a people you do not know will consume it, and you will be nothing but oppressed and crushed for the rest of your lives.

Joab ¹  said, “If the Arameans start to overpower me, ²  you come to my rescue. If the Ammonites start to overpower you, ³  I will come to your rescue.

The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. ¹  He will give you renewed strength, ²  and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.
