You must supply them generously ¹  from your flock, your threshing floor, and your winepress – as the Lord your God has blessed you, you must give to them.

They ¹  will have no inheritance in the midst of their fellow Israelites; ²  the Lord alone is their inheritance, just as he had told them.

I wish that they were wise and could understand this, and that they could comprehend what will happen to them.”

Instead, you must be sure to open your hand to him and generously lend ¹  him whatever he needs. ² 

Furthermore, he must not marry many ¹  wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.
