<p class="poetry">defiantly charging against him<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">with a thick, strong shield!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">You will pray to him and he will hear you,p> <p class="poetry">and you will fulfill your vows to him.<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">&#8220;What is mankind<n id="1" /> that you make so much of them,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and that you pay attention<n id="3" /> to them?p>

<p class="poetry">He is wise in heart<n id="1" /> and mighty<n id="2" /> in strength<n id="3" /> &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">who has resisted<n id="4" /> him and remained safe?<n id="5" />p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;As for you,<n id="1" /> if you prove faithful,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and if<n id="3" /> you stretch out your hands toward him,<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">You may say,<n id="1" /> &#8216;God stores up a man&#8217;s<n id="2" /> punishment for his children!&#8217;<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">Instead let him repay<n id="4" /> the man himself<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">so that<n id="6" /> he may know it!p>

<p class="poetry">Why do you contend against him,p> <p class="poetry">that he does not answer all a person&#8217;s<n id="1" /> words?p>

<p class="poetry">Will you rely on it because its strength is great?p> <p class="poetry">Will you commit<n id="1" /> your labor to it?p>

<p class="poetry">If he snatches away,<n id="1" /> who can turn him back?<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">Who dares to say to him, &#8216;What are you doing?&#8217;p>

Then they sat down with him on the ground for seven days and seven nights, yet no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his pain<n id="1" /> was very great.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">So the <sc>Lordsc> said to Satan, &#8220;All right then,<n id="1" /> everything he has is<n id="2" /> in your power.<n id="3" /> Only do not extend your hand against the man himself!&#8221;<n id="4" /> So Satan went out<n id="5" /> from the presence of the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="6" />p>

So they came to him, all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they dined<n id="1" /> with him in his house. They comforted him and consoled him for all the trouble the <sc>Lordsc> had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver<n id="2" /> and a gold ring.<n id="3" />p>
