During the days of my fleeting life1 I have seen both2 of these things: Sometimes3 a righteous person dies prematurely4 in spite of5 his righteousness, and sometimes6 a wicked person lives long7 in spite of his evil deeds.
Rejoice, young man, while you are young,1 and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Follow the impulses2 of your heart and the desires3 of your eyes, but know that God will judge your motives and actions.4
So remember1 your Creator in the days of your youth – before2 the difficult3 days come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;
