The Lord ¹  said, “Throw it to the ground.” So he threw it to the ground, and it became a snake, ²  and Moses ran from it.

He overlaid it with pure gold, and he made a surrounding border of gold for it.

So they put it aside until the morning, just as Moses had commanded, and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it.

You are to overlay ¹  it with pure gold – both inside and outside you must overlay it, ²  and you are to make a surrounding border ³  of gold over it.

You are to attach to it a blue cord so that it will be ¹  on the turban; it is to be ²  on the front of the turban,

And take ¹  the anointing oil, and anoint ²  the tabernacle and all that is in it, and sanctify ³  it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.

“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

It must not be applied ¹  to people’s bodies, and you must not make any like it with the same recipe. It is holy, and it must be holy to you.

He took the calf they had made and burned it in the fire, ground it ¹  to powder, poured it out on the water, and made the Israelites drink it. ² 

When ¹  the Israelites saw it, they said to one another, ²  “What is it?” because they did not know what it was. ³  Moses said to them, “It is the bread ⁴  that the Lord has given you for food. ⁵ 

If its owner was with it, he will not have to pay; if it was hired, what was paid for the hire covers it. ¹ 

It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be joined together. ¹ 

He overlaid it with pure gold, inside and out, and he made a surrounding border ¹  of gold for it.

The whole community of Israel must observe it.

He made its horns on its four corners; its horns were part of it, ¹  and he overlaid it with bronze.

“You are to make its seven lamps, ¹  and then set ²  its lamps up on it, so that it will give light ³  to the area in front of it.

You are to overlay it with ¹  pure gold, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold for it.

A foreigner and a hired worker must not eat it.

They made shoulder pieces for it, attached to two of its corners, so it could be joined together.

If you make me an altar of stone, you must not build it ¹  of stones shaped with tools, ²  for if you use your tool on it you have defiled it. ³
