Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires,

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires. ¹ 

(for rulers cause no fear for good conduct but for bad). Do you desire not to fear authority? Do good and you will receive its commendation,

For circumcision ¹  has its value if you practice the law, but ²  if you break the law, ³  your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly but because of God ¹  who subjected it – in hope

that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died. ¹ 

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.” ¹ 

Do not be conformed ¹  to this present world, ²  but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve ³  what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.

But now, freed ¹  from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit ²  leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

So, my brothers and sisters, ¹  you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God. ² 

And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive

So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me.

For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

For God achieved what the law could not do because ¹  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin,

So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people ¹  because ²  all sinned –
