From that time ¹  on, Judas ²  began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

But the angel said ¹  to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know ²  that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ³ 

“When ¹  an unclean spirit ²  goes out of a person, ³  it passes through waterless places ⁴  looking for rest but ⁵  does not find it.

Then ¹  he instructed the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to the disciples, ²  who in turn gave them to the crowds. ³ 

Many ¹  women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and given him support ²  were also there, watching from a distance.

The ¹  chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were trying to find false testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death.

Jesus ¹  looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans, ²  but for God all things are possible.”

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee,

“Ask ¹  and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door ²  will be opened for you.

“Are you the one who is to come, ¹  or should we look for another?”

What did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more ¹  than a prophet.

Then some of the experts in the law ¹  along with some Pharisees ²  answered him, ³  “Teacher, we want to see a sign ⁴  from you.”

But he answered them, ¹  “An evil and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

A ¹  man was there who had a withered ²  hand. And they asked Jesus, ³  “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” ⁴  so that they could accuse him.
