He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right side and the other on the left. ¹  He named the one on the right Jachin, ²  and the one on the left Boaz. ³ 

The combined wing span of the cherubs was 30 feet. ¹  One of the first cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched one wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the second cherub’s wings. ² 

One nation was crushed by another, and one city by another, for God caused them to be in great turmoil. ¹ 

Likewise one of the second cherub’s wings was seven and one-half feet long and touched the other wall of the temple; its other wing was also seven and one-half feet long and touched one of the first cherub’s wings. ¹ 

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. ¹ 

Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he ruled for eleven years in Jerusalem. ¹ 

Hezekiah is the one who eliminated ¹  the Lord’s ²  high places and altars and then told Judah and Jerusalem, “At one altar you must worship and offer sacrifices.”

O Lord God, do not reject your chosen ones! ¹  Remember the faithful promises you made to your servant David!”

In one day King Pekah son of Remaliah of Israel killed 120,000 warriors in Judah, because they had abandoned the Lord God of their ancestors. ¹ 

There were twelve statues of lions on the six steps, one lion at each end of each step. There was nothing like it in any other kingdom. ¹ 

Ahaziah was twenty-two ¹  years old when he became king and he reigned for one year in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, the granddaughter ²  of Omri.

The Lord said, ‘Who will deceive King Ahab of Israel, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?’ One said this and another that.

He posted guards at the gates of the Lord’s temple, so no one who was ceremonially unclean in any way could enter.

In those days ¹  no one could travel safely, ²  for total chaos had overtaken all the people of the surrounding lands. ³ 

The Ammonites and Moabites attacked the men from Mount Seir ¹  and annihilated them. ²  When they had finished off the men ³  of Seir, they attacked and destroyed one another. ⁴ 

then listen from your heavenly dwelling place, forgive their sin, ¹  and act favorably toward each one based on your evaluation of their motives. ²  (Indeed you are the only one who can correctly evaluate the motives of all people.) ³ 

He made ornamental chains ¹  and put them on top of the pillars. He also made one hundred pomegranate-shaped ornaments and arranged them within the chains.

He made ten tables and set them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left. He also made one hundred gold bowls.

These were the ones who served the king, besides those whom the king placed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.

This is what you must do. One third of you priests and Levites who are on duty during the Sabbath will guard the doors.
