But during the night an angel of the Lord ¹  opened ²  the doors of the prison, ³  led them out, ⁴  and said,

“Look!” he said. ¹  “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door ¹  and saw him, they were greatly astonished. ² 

He ¹  saw heaven ²  opened ³  and an object something like a large sheet ⁴  descending, ⁵  being let down to earth ⁶  by its four corners.

“We found the jail locked securely and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them, ¹  we found no one inside.”

So Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open, ¹  he could see nothing. ²  Leading him by the hand, his companions ³  brought him into Damascus.

After we had sailed across the open sea ¹  off Cilicia and Pamphylia, ²  we put in ³  at Myra ⁴  in Lycia. ⁵ 

But his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening ¹  in the wall by lowering him in a basket. ² 

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told ¹  them ²  that Peter was standing at the gate.

Suddenly a great earthquake occurred, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors flew open, and the bonds ¹  of all the prisoners came loose.

When the jailer woke up ¹  and saw the doors of the prison standing open, ²  he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, ³  because he assumed ⁴  the prisoners had escaped.

(Now this man Judas ¹  acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, ²  and falling headfirst ³  he burst open in the middle and all his intestines ⁴  gushed out.

But Peter sent them all outside, ¹  knelt down, ²  and prayed. Turning ³  to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴ 

When they arrived and gathered the church together, they reported ¹  all the things God ²  had done with them, and that he had opened a door ³  of faith for the Gentiles.

A ¹  woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth ²  from the city of Thyatira, ³  a God-fearing woman, listened to us. ⁴  The Lord opened her heart to respond ⁵  to what Paul was saying.

Now the passage of scripture the man ¹  was reading was this: “He was led like a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did ²  not open his mouth.

If then Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a complaint ¹  against someone, the courts are open ²  and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another there. ³ 

to open their eyes so that they turn ¹  from darkness to light and from the power ²  of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share ³  among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

So he was staying with them, associating openly with them ¹  in Jerusalem, speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord.

After they had passed the first and second guards, ¹  they came to the iron ²  gate leading into the city. It ³  opened for them by itself, ⁴  and they went outside and walked down one narrow street, ⁵  when at once the angel left him.
