But he passed through the crowd ¹  and went on his way. ² 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  traveled throughout ³  towns ⁴  and villages, teaching and making his way toward ⁵  Jerusalem. ⁶ 

Now on ¹  the way to Jerusalem, ²  Jesus ³  was passing along ⁴  between Samaria and Galilee.

Treat others ¹  in the same way that you would want them to treat you. ² 

Then ¹  he said to the man, ²  “Get up and go your way. Your faith has made you well.” ³ 

and then the third married her, and in this same way all seven died, leaving no children.

And in this way, ¹  with many other exhortations, John ²  proclaimed good news to the people.

So ¹  he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree ²  to see him, because Jesus ³  was going to pass that way.

This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, ¹  who will prepare your way before you.’ ² 

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, ¹  to guide our feet into the way ²  of peace.”

If he cannot succeed, ¹  he will send a representative ²  while the other is still a long way off and ask for terms of peace. ³ 

but ¹  they could not find a way to do it, ²  for all the people hung on his words. ³ 

Now as they went on their way, Jesus ¹  entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest. ² 

Thus ¹  they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, ²  and show no partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. ³ 

Nevertheless I must ¹  go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible ²  that a prophet should be killed ³  outside Jerusalem.’ ⁴ 

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels ¹  over one sinner who repents.”

The ¹  chief priests and the experts in the law ²  were trying to find some way ³  to execute ⁴  Jesus, ⁵  for they were afraid of the people. ⁶ 

because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. ¹  As Jesus was on his way, the crowds pressed ²  around him.

In the same way therefore not one of you can be my disciple if he does not renounce all his own possessions. ¹ 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  went out and made his way, ³  as he customarily did, to the Mount of Olives, ⁴  and the disciples followed him.
