it is not from ¹  works, so that no one can boast. ² 

For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them. ¹ 

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather ¹  expose them. ² 

In Christ ¹  we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, ²  since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will

Now to him who by the power that is working within us ¹  is able to do far beyond ²  all that we ask or think,

in which ¹  you formerly lived ²  according to this world’s present path, ³  according to the ruler of the kingdom ⁴  of the air, the ruler of ⁵  the spirit ⁶  that is now energizing ⁷  the sons of disobedience, ⁸ 

to equip ¹  the saints for the work of ministry, that is, ²  to build up the body of Christ,
