6:1 Throughout that <01931> night <03915> the king <04428> was unable <05074> to sleep <08142>, so he asked <0559> for the <0853> book <05612> containing the historical <03117> <01697> records <02146> to be brought <0935>. As the records were <01961> being read <07121> in the king’s <04428> presence <06440>, 6:2 it was found <04672> written <03789> that <0834> Mordecai <04782> had disclosed <05046> that Bigthana <0904> and Teresh <08657>, two <08147> of the king’s <04428> eunuchs <05631> who <0834> guarded <08104> the entrance <05592>, had plotted <01245> to assassinate <03027> <07971> King <04428> Ahasuerus <0325>. 6:3 The king <04428> asked <0559>, “What <04100> great <01420> honor <03366> was bestowed <06213> on <05921> Mordecai <04782> because of this <02088>?” The king’s <04428> attendants <05288> who served <08334> him responded <0559>, “Not <03808> a thing <01697> was done <06213> for <05973> him.” 6:4 Then the king <04428> said <0559>, “Who <04310> is that in the courtyard <02691>?” Now Haman <02001> had come <0935> to the outer <02435> courtyard <02691> of the palace <01004> to suggest <0559> that the king <04428> hang <08518> Mordecai <04782> on <05921> the gallows <06086> that <0834> he had constructed <03559> for him. 6:5 The king’s <04428> attendants <05288> said <0559> to <0413> him, “It is Haman <02001> who is standing <05975> in the courtyard <02691>.” The king <04428> said <0559>, “Let him enter <0935>.” 6:6 So Haman <02001> came <0935> in, and the king <04428> said <0559> to him, “What <04100> should be done <06213> for the man <0376> whom <0834> the king <04428> wishes <02654> to honor <03366>?” Haman <02001> thought <0559> to himself <03820>, “Who <04310> is it that the king <04428> would want to <02654> honor <03366> <06213> more <03148> than <04480> me?” 6:7 So Haman <02001> said <0559> to <0413> the king <04428>, “For the man <0376> whom <0834> the king <04428> wishes <02654> to honor <03366>, 6:8 let them bring <0935> royal <04438> attire <03830> which <0834> the king <04428> himself has worn <03847> and a horse <05483> on which <0834> the king <04428> himself has <0834> ridden <07392>– one bearing <05414> the royal <04438> insignia <03804>! 6:9 Then let this clothing <03830> and this horse <05483> be given <05414> to one <0376> of the king’s <04428> noble <06579> officials <08269>. Let him then clothe <03847> the man <0376> whom <0834> the king <04428> wishes <02654> to honor <03366>, and let him lead <07392> him about through the plaza <07339> of the city <05892> on <05921> the horse <05483>, calling <07121> before <06440> him, ‘So <03602> shall it be done <06213> to the man <0376> whom <0834> the king <04428> wishes <02654> to honor <03366>!’” 6:10 The king <04428> then said <0559> to Haman <02001>, “Go quickly <04116>! Take <03947> the clothing <03830> and the horse <05483>, just as <0834> you have described <01696>, and do <06213> as <03651> you just indicated to Mordecai <04782> the Jew <03064> who sits <03427> at the king’s <04428> gate <08179>. Don’t <0408> neglect <05307> a single thing <01697> of all <03605> that <0834> you have said <01696>.” 6:11 So Haman <02001> took <03947> the clothing <03830> and the horse <05483>, and he clothed <03847> Mordecai <04782>.
