A Poem For Mary

What happened to the little boy I knew?
I must have missed something, the way that he grew.
Though I loved him, there seemed to be more.
Among the other boys, He had good rapport.
As I giggled and laughed, He did his little boy things.
But when He was hurt, to my heart did He bring,
Comfort and joy, was that the feeling?
A precious baby was to me that day born.
But now that He's grown, they laugh him to scorn.
Come Jesus, come now, come here to me.
Come now, come here let us flee.
I will take you to places much better to be.
Greater love hath no man; you-ve proved it to me.
But there, there you are as I look to your tree.
It's here that they-ve brought you, to this Cal-va-ry.
Oh your love did I cherish and keep for my own.
But now to the world, your love is made known!
