  Again the Lord’s own day is here, The day to Christian people dear, As, week by week, it bids them tell How Jesus rose from death and hell. For by His flock their Lord declared His resurrection should be shared; And we who trust in Him to save With Him are risen from the grave. We, one and all, of Him possessed, Are with exceeding treasures blessed, For all He did, and all He bare, He gives us as our own to share. Eternal glory, rest on high, A blessèd immortality, True peace and gladness, and a throne, Are all His gifts, and all our own. And therefore unto Thee we sing, O Lord of peace, eternal King; Thy love we praise, Thy Name adore, Both on this day and evermore.

  Yes, the Redeemer rose, the Savior left the dead, And o’er our hellish foes high raised His conquering head. In wild dismay the guards around, Fall to the ground and sink away. Lo! the angelic bands in full assembly meet, To wait His high commands and worship at His feet. Joyful they come, and wing their way From realms of day to see His tomb.   Ask ye what great thing I know, That delights and stirs me so? What the high reward I win? Whose the Name I glory in? Jesus Christ, the Crucified. What is faith’s foundation strong? What awakes my heart to song? He Who bore my sinful load, Purchased for me peace with God, Jesus Christ, the Crucified. Who is He that makes me wise To discern where duty lies? Who is He that makes me true Duty, when discerned to do, Jesus Christ, the Crucified. Who defeats my fiercest foes? Who consoles my saddest woes? Who revives my fainting heart, Healing all its hidden smart? Jesus Christ, the Crucified. Who is life in life to me? Who the death of death will be? Who will place me on His right, With the countless hosts of light? Jesus Christ, the Crucified. This is that great thing I know; This delights and stirs me so; Faith in Him Who died to save, Him Who triumphed over the grave: Jesus Christ, the Crucified.
