Adonijah Tries to Seize the Throne

1:1 King David was very old; ¹  even when they covered him with blankets, ²  he could not get warm.

14:20 Jeroboam ruled for twenty-two years; then he passed away. ³  His son Nadab replaced him as king.

[22:5]  ¹¹ tn Heb “and Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel.”

[22:5]  ¹² tn Heb “the word of the Lord.” Jehoshaphat is requesting a prophetic oracle revealing the Lord’s will in the matter and their prospects for success. For examples of such oracles, see 2 Sam 5:19, 23-24.
