[4:26]  1 tn The Hebrew text has “40,000,” but this is probably an inflated number (nevertheless it is followed by KJV, ASV, NASB, NRSV, TEV, CEV). Some Greek mss of the OT and the parallel in 2 Chr 9:25 read “4,000” (cf. NAB, NIV, NCV, NLT).

[10:19]  2 tn Heb “[There were] armrests on each side of the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.”

[10:20]  3 tn Heb “nothing like it had been made for all the kingdoms.”

[20:16]  4 tn Heb “drinking and drunken.”

[20:16]  5 tn Heb “in the temporary shelters.” This is probably referring to tents.

[8:63]  5 tn Or “tokens of peace”; NIV, TEV “fellowship offerings.”

[10:26]  6 tn Or “gathered.”

[10:26]  7 tn Heb “he placed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.”

[20:1]  8 tn Heb “and he went up and besieged Samaria and fought against it.”

[22:31]  8 tn Heb “small or great.”
