[9:3]  1 tn Heb “I have heard.”

[9:3]  2 tn Heb “by placing my name there perpetually” (or perhaps, “forever”).

[9:3]  3 tn Heb “and my eyes and my heart will be there all the days.”

[5:5]  4 tn Aram “the eye of their God was on.” The idiom describes the attentive care that one exercises in behalf of the object of his concern.

[5:5]  5 tn Aram “they did not stop them.”

[5:5]  6 tn Aram “[could] go.” On this form see F. Rosenthal, Grammar, 58, §169.

[33:18]  7 tn Heb “look, the eye of the Lord [is] toward the ones who fear him.” The expression “the eye…[is] toward” here indicates recognition and the bestowing of favor. See Ps 34:15. The one who fears the Lord respects his sovereignty and obeys his commandments. See Ps 128:1; Prov 14:2.

[33:18]  8 tn Heb “for the ones who wait for his faithfulness.”

[34:15]  9 tn Heb “the eyes of the Lord [are] toward the godly, and his ears [are] toward their cry for help.”

[24:6]  10 tn Heb “I will set my eyes upon them for good.” For the nuance of “good” see Jer 21:10; Amos 9:4 (in these cases the opposite of harm; see BDB 375 s.v. טוֹבָה 1).

[24:6]  11 tn The words “There” and “firmly in the land” are not in the text but are implicit from the connection and the metaphor. They are supplied in the translation for clarity.

[24:6]  12 sn For these terms see Jer 1:10.
