[1:10] 1 sn You founded the earth…your years will never run out. In its original setting Ps 102:25-27 refers to the work of God in creation, but here in Hebrews 1:10-12 the writer employs it in reference to Christ, the Lord, making a strong argument for the essential deity of the Son.
[3:9] 2 tn Grk “tested me by trial.”
[3:16] 3 tn Grk “through Moses.”
[9:6] 4 tn Grk “the first tent.”
[11:33] 5 tn This probably refers to the righteous rule of David and others. But it could be more general and mean “did what was righteous.”
[11:33] 6 tn Grk “obtained promises,” referring to the things God promised, not to the pledges themselves.
[12:19] 6 tn Grk “a voice of words.”
[12:19] 7 tn Grk “a voice…from which those who heard begged that a word not be added to them.”
