Luke 15:1-2
-
[Luk 15:2] Christ Receiveth Sinful Men
Sinners Jesus will receive;
Sound this word of grace to all
Who the heavenly pathway leave,
All who linger, all who fall.Refrain
Sing it o’er and over again;
Christ receiveth sinful men;
Make the message clear and plain:
Christ receiveth sinful men.Come, and He will give you rest;
Trust Him, for His Word is plain;
He will take the sinfulest;
Christ receiveth sinful men.Refrain
Now my heart condemns me not,
Pure before the law I stand;
He who cleansed me from all spot,
Satisfied its last demand.Refrain
Christ receiveth sinful men,
Even me with all my sin;
Purged from every spot and stain,
Heaven with Him I enter in.Refrain

[Luk 15:2] Jesus, Friend Of Sinners
Jesus, Friend of sinners, hast Thou love for me?
Son of God the Holy, Man of mystery,
Lover of the children, Teacher of the wise,
Let me read the secret in Thy friendly eyes.Jesus, Friend of sinners, Thou hast read my heart,
Searching its recesses with a lover’s art;
Naught have I withholden, nothing hid from Thee—
Waste, or want, or folly—things that should not be.Jesus, Friend of sinners, Thou hast touched my soul,
Not with scornful pity, not with beggar’s dole;
Thou hast not despisèd men that faint or fall,
Tenderer than brother, for Thou knowest all.Jesus, Friend of sinners, bid me follow Thee,
O’er the rugged highways, e’en to Calvary;
Let me know Thy Spirit, sweet and strong and wise;
I would win the friendship in Thy loving eyes.Jesus, Friend of sinners, hold me by Thy side,
Till the shadows deepen tow’rd the eventide;
To Thy strength and beauty I would ever bend,
Till, in dawn eternal, Friend shall be as friend!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Luk 15:2] Jesus Sinners Doth Receive
Jesus sinners doth receive;
Oh, may all this saying ponder
Who in sin’s delusions live
And from God and Heaven wander!
Here is hope for all who grieve—
Jesus sinners doth receive.We deserve but grief and shame,
Yet His words, rich grace revealing,
Pardon, peace and life proclaim.
Here their ills have perfect healing
Who with humble hearts believe—
Jesus sinners doth receive.Sheep that from the fold did stray
No true shepherd e’er forsaketh;
Weary souls that lost their way
Christ, the Shepherd, gently taketh
In His arms that they may live—
Jesus sinners doth receive.Come, ye sinners, one and all,
Come, accept His invitation;
Come, obey His gracious call,
Come and take His free salvation!
Firmly in these words believe:
Jesus sinners doth receive.I, a sinner, come to Thee
With a penitent confession;
Savior, mercy show to me
Grant for all my sins remission.
Let these words my soul relieve:
Jesus sinners doth receive.Oh, how blest it is to know:
Were as scarlet my transgression,
It shall be as white as snow
By Thy blood and bitter Passion;
For these words I now believe:
Jesus sinners doth receive.Now my conscience is at peace,
From the Law I stand acquitted;
Christ hath purchased my release
And my every sin remitted.
Naught remains my soul to grieve—
Jesus sinners doth receive.Jesus sinners doth receive.
Also I have been forgiven;
And when I this earth must leave,
I shall find an open Heaven.
Dying, still to Him I cleave—
Jesus sinners doth receive.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Luk 15:2] Jesus, The Sinner’s Friend
Jesus, the sinner’s Friend, to Thee,
Lost and undone, for aid I flee,
Weary of earth, myself, and sin:
Open Thine arms, and take me in.Pity and heal my sin sick soul;
’Tis Thou alone canst make me whole;
Dark, till in me Thine image shine,
And lost, I am, till Thou art mine.At last I own it cannot be
That I should fit myself for Thee:
Here, then, to Thee I all resign;
Thine is the work, and only Thine.What shall I say Thy grace to move?
Lord, I am sin, but Thou art love;
I give up every plea beside—
Lord, I am lost, but Thou hast died.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Luk 15:2] My Savior Sinners Doth Receive
My Savior sinners doth receive
Who find no rest and no salvation,
To whom no man can comfort give,
So great their guilt and condemnation;
For whom the world is all too small,
Their sins both them and God appall;
With whom the Law itself hath broken,
On whom its judgment hath been spoken—
To them the Gospel hope doth give:
My Savior sinners doth receive.
My Savior sinners doth receive.A love more deep than mother-love,
With which His heart was overflowing,
Drew Him on earth from Heav’n above,
On sinners boundless grace bestowing,
He in their stead a curse became,
He bore the cross with all its shame;
Brought full atonement by His suffering,
Gave up His life for them an offering.
This comfort doth the Gospel give:
My Savior sinners doth receive.
My Savior sinners doth receive.His loving bosom still remains
A haven for the heavy laden;
Christ frees them from their guilty stains,
Their burdened hearts doth ease and gladden.
He casts into th’unfathomed sea
The load of their iniquity;
He gives assurance by His Spirit
That they are saved through His own merit.
Yea, they shall live who this believe:
My Savior sinners doth receive.
My Savior sinners doth receive.Say not: “My sins are far too great,
His mercy I have scorned and slighted,
Now my repentance is too late;
I came not when His love invited.”
O trembling sinner, have no fear;
In penitence to Christ draw near.
Come now, though conscience still is chiding;
Accept His mercy, e’er abiding.
Come; blest are they who this believe:
My Savior sinners doth receive.
My Savior sinners doth receive.Oh, draw us ever unto Thee,
Thou Friend of sinners, gracious Savior;
Help us that we may fervently
Desire Thy pardon, peace and favor.
When guilty conscience doth reprove,
Reveal to us Thy heart of love.
May we, our wretchedness beholding,
See then Thy pardoning grace unfolding
And say: “To God all glory be:
My Savior, Christ, receiveth me.
My Savior, Christ, receiveth me.”Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Luk 15:2] Sinners, Believe The Gospel Word
Sinners, believe the Gospel word,
Jesus is come your souls to save
Jesus is come, your common Lord;
Pardon ye all through Him may have,
May now be saved, whoever will;
This Man receiveth sinners still.See where the lame, the halt, the blind,
The deaf, the dumb, the sick, the poor,
Flock to the Friend of human kind,
And freely all accept their cure;
To whom did He His help deny?
Whom in His days of flesh pass by?Did not His Word the fiends expel,
The lepers cleanse, and raise the dead?
Did He not all their sickness heal,
And satisfy their every need?
Did He reject His helpless clay,
Or send them sorrowful away?Nay, but His bowels yearned to see
The people hungry, scattered, faint;
Nay, but He uttered over thee,
Jerusalem, a true complaint;
Jerusalem, who shedd’st His blood,
That, with His tears, for thee hath flowed.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Luk 15:2] Thy Faithfulness Lord, Each Moment We Find
Thy faithfulness, Lord, each moment we find,
So true to Thy Word, so loving and kind!
Thy mercy so tender to all the lost race,
The vilest offender may turn and find grace.The mercy I feel, to others I show,
I set to my seal that Jesus is true:
Ye all may find favor, who come at His call,
O come to my Savior, His grace is for all!To save what was lost, from Heaven He came;
Come, sinners, and trust in Jesus’ Name.
He offers you pardon; He bids you be free;
“If sin be your burden, O come unto Me!”O let me commend my Savior to you,
The publican’s Friend and Advocate too,
For you He is pleading His merits and death,
With God interceding for sinners beneath.Then let us submit His grace to receive,
Fall down at His feet and gladly believe:
We all are forgiven for Jesus’ sake:
Our title to Heaven His merits we take.Play source: Cyberhymnal
