[4:42]  1 tn Grk “When it became day.”

[4:42]  2 tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[4:42]  3 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “yet” to indicate that the crowds still sought Jesus in spite of his withdrawal.

[5:7]  4 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate consequential nature of the action.

[5:7]  5 tn That is, “they signaled by making gestures” (L&N 33.485).

[5:7]  6 tn This infinitive conveys the idea that the boats were at the point of sinking.

[8:35]  7 tn Here δέ (de) has been translated as “so” to indicate the people’s response to the report.

[8:35]  8 tn Grk “Jesus, and they.” Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style. Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.
