Matthew 16:11-12
Context16:11 How could you not understand that I was not speaking to you about bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!” 16:12 Then they understood that he had not told them to be on guard against the yeast in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Matthew 13:33
ContextThe Parable of the Yeast
13:33 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with 3 three measures 4 of flour until all the dough had risen.” 5

[16:6] 1 sn See the note on Pharisees in 3:7.
[16:6] 2 sn See the note on Sadducees in 3:7.
[13:33] 4 sn This measure was a saton, the Greek name for the Hebrew term “seah.” Three of these was a very large quantity of flour, since a saton is a little over 16 pounds (7 kg) of dry measure (or 13.13 liters). So this was over 47 lbs (21 kg) of flour total, enough to feed over a hundred people.
