[17:5]  1 tn Heb “my steps stay firm in your tracks.” The infinitive absolute functions here as a finite verb (see GKC 347 §113.gg). God’s “tracks” are his commands, i.e., the moral pathways he has prescribed for the psalmist.

[17:5]  2 tn Heb “my footsteps do not stagger.”

[44:18]  3 tn Heb “our heart did not turn backward.” Cf. Ps 78:57.

[44:18]  4 tn Heb “and our steps did [not] turn aside from your path.” The negative particle is understood by ellipsis (see the preceding line). God’s “path” refers to his commands, i.e., the moral pathway he has prescribed for the psalmist. See Pss 17:5; 25:4.

[81:13]  5 tn Heb “if only my people were listening to me.” The Hebrew particle לוּ (lu, “if not”) introduces a purely hypothetical or contrary to fact condition (see 2 Sam 18:12).

[81:13]  6 tn Heb “[and if only] Israel would walk in my ways.”

[103:18]  7 tn Heb “to those who remember his precepts to do them.”

[105:45]  9 tn Heb “guard.”
