  1. Jika padaku ditanyakan apa akan kub'ritakan pada dunia yang penuh penderitaan, 'kan kusampaikan kabar baik pada orang-orang miskin, pembebasan bagi orang yang ditawan; yang buta dapat penglihatan, yang tertindas dibebaskan; sungguh tahun rahmat sudah tiba.   O Christ, who didst our tasks fulfill, Didst share the hopes of youth, Our Savior and our Brother still, Now lead us into truth. The call is Thine: be Thou the Way, And Thine the hearts that guide; Let wisdom broaden with the day, Let human faith abide. Who learns of Thee the truth shall find, Who follows, wins the goal; With reverence crown the earnest mind, And speak within the soul.   O holy Lord, content to fill In lowly home the lowliest place, Thy childhood’s law a mother’s will, Obedience meek Thy brightest grace; Lead every child that bears Thy Name To walk in Thine own guileless way, To dread the touch of sin and shame, And humbly, like Thyself, obey. • [Rom 14:18] It May Not Be Our Lot

  It may not be our lot to wield The sickle in the ripened field; Nor ours to hear, on summer eves, The reaper’s song among the sheaves. Yet where our duty’s task is wrought In unison with God’s great thought, The near and future blend in one, And whatsoe’er is willed, is done. And ours the grateful service whence Comes, day by day, the recompense; The hope, the trust, the purpose stayed, The fountain, and the noonday shade. And were this lift the utmost span, The only end and aim of man, Better the toil of fields like these Than waking dream and slotfhful ease.
