  God is my strong Salvation: What foe have I to fear? In darkness and temptation, my Light, my Help is near. Though hosts encamp around me, firm in the fight I stand. What terror can confound me, with God at my right hand? Place on the Lord reliance; my soul, with courage, wait. His truth will be my Sustenance, when faint and desolate. His might my heart shall strengthen, His love my joy increase. Mercy my days shall lengthen; the Lord will give me peace.

  My light and my salvation, O Lord, whom shall I fear? You are my life’s great stronghold when evil men come near. Though enemies attack me, my heart will never fear. Though war break out against me, I’m confident you’re near. One thing I ask and seek, Lord: to dwell with you always, To gaze upon your beauty and seek you all my days. For in the day of trouble, you’ll hide me, keep me safe. My head will be exalted; I’ll sing and shout your praise. Hear now my voice and answer; be merciful I pray. • [Rom 8:31] If God Himself Be For Me

  If God Himself be for me, I may a host defy, For when I pray, before me my foes confounded fly. If Christ, the Head, befriend me, if God be my support, The mischief they intend me shall quickly come to naught. I build on this foundation, that Jesus and His blood Alone are my salvation, the true eternal good; Without Him, all that pleases is valueless on earth: The gifts I owe to Jesus alone my love are worth. His Holy Spirit dwelleth within my willing heart, Tames it when it rebelleth, and soothes the keenest smart. He crowns His work with blessing, and helpeth me to cry “My Father!” without ceasing to Him Who reigns on high. To mine His Spirit speaketh sweet words of soothing power, How God to Him that seeketh for rest, hath rest in store; How God Himself prepareth my heritage and lot, And though my body weareth, my Heav’n shall fail me not.

• [Rom 8:31] What Shall We Say?

  What shall we say? If God indeed is for us, Who then can ever come against our souls? God did not spare His only Son, our Savior, But gave Him up that we might be made whole. How will He not, along with Christ our Lord, Give us all things by His free grace? God will indeed, along with Christ our Lord, Give us all things by His free grace. Now who will bring a charge against God’s chosen? God is the One Who justifies each man. Who can condemn? Christ Jesus died for sinners, Was raised to life, and sits at God’s right hand. From there He always intercedes for us; None can condemn—we’re justified. He intercedes and brings our case to God; None can condemn—we’re justified. Who then shall cleave us from the love of Jesus? We who face death like sheep within their pen. Shall trouble, hardship, persecution, hunger? Shall nakedness or danger or armed men? No, in all things we’re more than conquerors Through Him Who loved us to the death. In all these things, we’re more than conquerors Through Him Who loved us to the death. I am convinced there’s naught in all creation Can come between us and God’s love so vast. Not death nor life, angels nor demon powers, Things present now, nor what is yet to pass. Nothing can separate us from God’s love That comes to us through Christ our Lord! Nothing can separate us from God’s love That comes to us through Christ our Lord!
